About Jupiter Wagons Ltd
Jupiter Wagons Limited (previously known as Commercial Engineers and Body Builders Co Limited) operates in the business of manufacturing railway wagons, wagon components, castings, and metal fabrication, including load bodies for commercial vehicles, rail freight wagons, and components. The company has manufacturing facilities at Hooghly (West Bengal), Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), and Jamshedpur (Jharkhand).
History of Jupiter Wagons
Jupiter Wagons Limited was incorporated on September 28, 1979, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, as Commercial Engineers and Body Builders Co. Private Limited.
During 2005-2006, it started commercial production at its Mandla Factory, and later, leased it from Kailash Auto Builders. During the period, it also entered into a Technical Know-How Agreement with Thai company Cho Thavee Dollasien Co. Ltd. for the production of heavy vehicles, including tippers and trailers, etc.
From 2008 to 2009, it ventured into railway components by starting activities in the railways division and commissioned robotic welding lines at the Richhai Factory. The company also received its first order from Indian Railways to supply 290 Side-Walls and End-Walls. A year later, it converted into a public company and was listed on the public market on October 18, 2010.
In 2019, Jupiter Wagons Limited acquired a 68% stake in CEBBCO for just ₹100 crore in a stressed asset sale. Following this, in 2022, Jupiter Wagons Limited completed a reverse merger with CEBBCO.
Business and Offerings of Jupiter Wagons
Rail Mobility Business: The company offers wagons, wagon accessories, passenger coach accessories, wheelsets, and track solutions such as CMS crossings for Indian Railways, weldable CMS crossings, and explosion hardenable AREMA frogs (CMS crossings) for North American railroads.
Road and Multimodal Mobility Business: It designs and manufactures load bodies for commercial vehicles and containers, including BESS containers, data center containers, ISO marine containers, light recovery vehicles, and more.
