Established in 1972, Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) is known to be India’s premier shipbuilding and maintenance facility. It is India’s largest green field shipbuilding and ship repair yard, with four ship repair units and two subsidiaries, spread across the South, West & East Coasts of India.
During 1981, the company delivered its first ship named ‘Rani Padmini’, and in 1990, it delivered the first tanker named ‘007 Motilal Nehru’. Later in 2011, it set up the 500-tonne bollard Pull facility at Vizhinjam, and by 2014, the company completed the delivery of its 100th ship. Cochin Shipyard launched its IPO in August 2017 via raising ₹1,442.01 crore in capital.
