About GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd

GVK Power Infrastructure Limited (GVKPIL) is a public company belonging to the GVK Group, one of India's leading infrastructure developers. Their areas of expertise include hospitality, manufacturing, power, roads, airports, SEZs and urban infrastructure. Having invested more than Rs. 5000 crore in various businesses, GVKPIL has current projects with a value in excess of Rs. 12000 crore. These projects are based on coal, gas and hydel resources and are located across several states in India. In October 2005, GVKPIL acquired GVKPPL and Transoceanic Projects Limiteds stake in the Grid Power Limited (GPL) and in January 2006, the consortium led by GVK Group was awarded the mandate to modernize the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai. GVKPIL has also initiated power projects that will have a capacity of over 2000 MW once operational. With the Jegurupadu Combined Cycle Power Plant already operational, the company has several ambitious projects under development.
