About Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) is a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Incorporated on October 23rd, 1989, PGCIL is India's largest electric utility company and is responsible for the transmission of about 50% of India's total power. The company has operations across the entire power sector value chain, from generation to transmission and distribution.

The company's top products include high voltage transmission lines, substations, telecom systems and equipment, and automation systems. PGCIL is also responsible for the development of India's national power grid and is the country's largest transmission utility. It has popular brands such as the National Load Dispatch Centre, Power System Operation Corporation, and the Regional Load Dispatch Centres.
