About HUDCO

Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) is a public sector undertaking in India responsible for providing loan financing for housing and urban infrastructure projects. Established in 1970 as The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Private Limited, the company has since undergone changes of name and formed research and training divisions. HUDCO's profit after tax (PAT) crossed the $600 crore mark in 2012 and they successfully raised $5000 crore through tax-free bond allocation. An Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2017 allocated 10.19% of the company's stake to the public. As of March 21, 2021 HUDCO has sanctioned 17301 Housing and Urban Infrastructure projects with a total loan of Rs 213083 crore, disbursed 177,527 crore and facilitated construction of 192.45 lakh housing units. In July/August 2021 the government divested 8% of the company's equity shareholding and two years later HUDCO completed consultancy services for construction of Housing Complex, prepared Housing for All plan of action and provided Design Consultancy services.
