About Velan Hotels Ltd

VHL is a hospitality company founded in Mar.90 and converted into a public limited company in Jun.92. The company initiated a project Hotel Greenfields in South Tirupur Tamilnadu at an estimated cost of Rs.500 lac with an ambition to commence commercial operations by Oct.92, though the project got delayed and was complete in Sep.94. To further take up new projects at Coonoor and Tirupur, VHL took over Ritz- a running hotel- and renovated it to fulfill the needs of all categories of guests, and Uthra- a restaurant for upcountry services- at north Tirupur, and both establishments commenced operations in 1995. In 1999-2000, the company recorded a turnover of Rs.592.13 lakhs, and the positive results signify VHL is on the path to progress.
