About Primo Chemicals Ltd

Primo Chemicals Ltd (formerly known as Punjab Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd), is the largest producer of Caustic Soda in Northern India with an overall production capacity of 165000 TPA. Established in December 1975, the company manufactures a range of products including Caustic Soda Lye, Hydrochloric Acid, Liquid Chlorine, Sodium Hypochlorite and Hydrogen gas. Recently in March 2021, the Board of Directors approved a proposal to purchase and install a Captive Power Plant of 35 MW capacity through second hand plant and machinery from Durva Infratech LLP. The expansion of the caustic soda plant in 1994 that boosted the production capacity to 37059 TPA, and CAP rights premium of Rs.35 was also successful. Primo Chemicals has achieved ISO 9002 certification, and also expanded the installed capacity of caustic soda, liquid chlorine and hydrogen gas to 99000 MT, 87714 MT and 277200 NM3 respectively. The company has also become a Sick Company and a Chlorinated Paraffin Wax (CPW) Plant was successfully commissioned in 2015-16. To reduce power consumption, the membrane cells of 100 TPD caustic soda plant were changed and the company has also absorbed the knowhow for the membrane and its 200 TPD Membrane Cell converted Caustic Soda Plant.
