About Paras Petrofils Ltd

Paras Petrofils PPL is a public limited company incorporated on 20th March 1991 and commenced business on 27th March 1991. It was promoted by the Paras group of Surat which is mainly involved in the manufacturing, processing and trading of synthetic fabrics such as sarees, dress materials and texturising of yarn. The present chairman and managing director is Devraj Jain while the other group companies include Paras Prints, Paras Silk Mills and Vir Silk Mills. In January 1995, PPL went public with a Rs 10 Crore public offering which was part of its Rs 28.51 Crore project to manufacture Partially Oriented Polyester Filament Yarn (POPFY). It entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Noy Val Lesina, Switzerland to supply plant and for technical services while Tata Consulting Engineers were appointed for detailed engineering. Due to this project, the company was able to commence commercial production of Partially Oriented Polyester Filament Yarn (POY) in the financial year 1996-97.
