About Gujarat Hotels Ltd

Gujarat Hotels, Inc. was promoted by Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation, ITC and was established in August 1982, initially named Gujarat Hotels Baroda. The first five-star hotel Welcomgroup Vadodara with a capacity of 144 rooms was created in 1986. Unfortunately, between 1992 and 1993 the company endured losses and a rehabilitation package was formulated in conjunction with the Government of Gujarat and financial institutions. After the package was fully implemented in 1994, Gujarat Hotels finally saw its first net profit. As a part of the restructuring process, the operating license agreement between both parties was transferred to ITC Hotels, effective October 1994.
