About Dredging Corporation of India Ltd

Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (DCIL) is a MiniRatna Public Sector Enterprise that specializes in dredging. It provides services such as maintenance dredging, capital dredging, beach nourishment, and land reclamation for Indian seaports, and also occasionally works at foreign seaports such as Taiwan and Dubai. The head office of DCIL is located in Visakhapatnam in the Andhra Pradesh while project offices are located at all Indian major ports. DCIL was incorporated in 1976 with the primary objective of catering to the dredging needs of the Indian ports and has since become an experienced player. The company has achieved financial autonomy as a MiniRatna Enterprise and is now able to take its own capital expenditure decisions, form joint ventures and technology alliances, and set up overseas offices. During its tenure, DCIL has successfully managed domestic and foreign contracts, such as a 10 million US dollar contract for Yanbu Port Management in Saudi Arabia, and dredging work in the Bay of Bengal area for the Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project.
