About CreditAccess Grameen Ltd

CreditAccess Grameen Limited, is a microfinance institution providing a wide variety of financial products and services to the rural poor and low income households, particularly women. Established in 1991, originally as Sanni Collection Private Limited, before transitioning into Grameen Koota Financial Services and soon after acquiring an NBFC status, the company was renamed CreditAccess Grameen Limited. Over two decades, CreditAccess Grameen rapidly expanded its presence, and over the years it has launched a variety of innovative products such as family welfare loans, home improvement loans, emergency loans, and National Pension Scheme (NPS). The company went public in August 2018 and increased its capital by raising Rs. 8,000 million through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) in 2020. In 2021, the company acquired 75.64% of the shares of Madura Micro Finance Limited from existing shareholders, while also transitioning to CreditAccess Grameen's operating model. As of March 2021, CreditAccess Grameen has 1635 branches in 319 districts across nine Indian States and Union Territories.
