About Bengal Tea & Fabrics Ltd

BTFL, an Indian firm promoted by B.D. Kanoria, was incorporated in July 1983 and is specialized in the manufacture and sale of black tea cloth and yarns. It has two divisions; the Tea Division, which procures green tea from its own plantation of three estates in Assam and markets it as Classic Gold and Pallorbund, and the Textiles Division acquired from a Ahmedabad based Asarwa Mills in 1976. BTFL aims to upgrade its facilities to become self-reliant and ensure uninterrupted power supply in various units. In 1998-99, it replaced 1008 spindles with balancing preparatory machinery and formed a 4.1 MW FO Base Captive Power Generation Plant in August 1999. Recently it has increased its installed capacity by 1728 spindles and increased the spinning capacity by 6048 spindles in 1996. Similarly it has plans to extend the unit of Asarwa Overseas from 18144 to 24192 spindles to efficiently meet the growing export orders.
