About Aban Offshore Ltd

Aban Offshore Limited (AOL), established in 1986, is a leading provider of world-class offshore oil field services and ISO 9001:2000 accredited. It started out with two imported jackup drilling rigs, AbanI and AbanII, for ONGC. In 1989, it received its first manning and management contract from ONGC for Sagar Uday and the company diversified by entering oil-related areas. Over the years, it added more and more services to its portfolio, resulting in an extensive range of offerings for offshore exploration and production of hydrocarbons in India and abroad. AOL also ventured into the FPSO business with the FPU Tahara, acquired from Hitech Drilling Services India Ltd, part of the Tata Group. In the year 2005, the company grew to four rigs with a drillship Frontier Ice and two jackup rigs, Aban V and Aban VI. For international expansion, AOL set up Aban Singapore Pte Ltd. (ASPL) in November of the same year, which subsequently acquired a 33.7% stake in Sinvest ASA. The company received contracts for deployment in West Coast of India and Qatar Shipping for disinvestments programme, and also set up a 3-million-tons-per-annum capacity petroleum refinery and a 2 MW wind power plant. It was registered for ISO 9001:2000 by KPMG and also took delivery of several rigs including Aban Pearl and Deep Driller 5. During 2014-15 it issued 5697135 EquityShares of Rs. 2/ each and also entered into contracts with Chevron Offshore Thailand Limited and Exxon Neftegas Limited. In 2018, Caldera Petroleum UK Ltd. became a step-down subsidiary of the company. With its vision for achievement through innovation, Aban Offshore Limited is at the forefront of the fiercely competitive business environment with its world-class services and skilled team of professionals.
