Ujjivan Financial Services Limited (UFSL) is one of the largest microfinance institutions in India, providing collateral-free loans and integrated financial services to economically active poor women and Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). UFSL received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to set up a Small Finance Bank and executed an agreement to transfer its business to its fully owned subsidiary, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Limited (the Bank) in 2017. UFSL subsequently surrendered their NBFC-MFI license and was conferred the status of NBFC-NDS-I-CIC. UFSL underwent a successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) of 42,02,3609 equity shares of Rs 10 each for a price of Rs 210 per share and was listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Ujjivan Small Finance Bank (USFB) started operations in February 2017 and achieved a successful financial year ending March 2018. This included steady business growth, portfolio quality stabilization, and increased backend efficiencies and productivity. USFB expanded its non-microfinance business by heavy investments in MSEs and housing finances as well as furthering their outreach by rolling out 187 banking outlets, including 47 in unbanked rural centres.
