About Transpek Industry Ltd

Established in 1965, Transpek Industry (TIL) manufactures a wide range of chemicals and intermediates. Initially, it began with manufacturing acrylic plastic sheets at its Atladra plant in Vadodra district, Gujarat. In 1969, TIL discontinued manufacturing acrylic sheets and started producing chemicals. Products like sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium tripolyphosphate and phosphoric acid were among the key products. In 1978, TIL further expanded its products and manufactured Sodium Hydrosulphite, hydro sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate, safolite, thionyl chloride and Sulphur dioxide. TIL then entered the global scenario in 1987 and is officially an Export House. In 199697, the company increased its installed capacity of Chlorinated Compounds to 16200 tpa and in 199899 of rubber and related chemicals to 1272 MT. To further expand its capacities for rubber chemicals, sodium hydrosulphite and thionyl chloride, TIL set up a joint venture in China for thionyl chloride. In 200304, the Sulphoxylates Business of Transpek Industry was transferred to Transpek Metals and Oxides while the company disinvested its holding from 39 to 14.93 to Excel Industries Ltd. An MOU has also been signed by the company, its subsidiary and one more company. In addition, Transpek Industry increased its installed capacity of Chlorinated Compounds by 2830 tonnes, making the total capacity rise to 19700 tonne.
