About Tokyo Plast International Ltd

Tokyo Plast International (TPIL) was established in November 1992 and began operations in March 1994. The company is run by Malshi L Shah and chairman and managing director Velji L Shah. In August 1994, TPIL raised a Rs 3.8cr public issue to partially fund its expansion project in Daman for the production of thermoware and other household items. The venture began commercial production from 1 April 1995. TPIL manufactures a broad range of plastic thermoware and household products such as casseroles, water bottles, hot tiffins, flasks, etc. for domestic and foreign markets under the brand name Tokyo. In 1995-96, the company was awarded the prestigious Second Best Exporter of thermoware in India award by the Plastics Linoleums Export Promotion Council. During 1997-98, TPIL introduced Spectrum water jugs and Colombus insulated flasks which were an instant success in export markets.
