About Panasonic Carbon India Company Ltd

Indo Matsushita Carbon Company (IMCC) commenced commercial production in 1984, in collaboration with the Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Japan and is part of the Rs.200cr Obul Reddy group. The company holds a 51% stake from Matsushita Electric, and are the only company that manufactures carbon rods for the captive consumption as well as Lakhanpal National Geep and other small scale units. IMCC also exports its product to Srilanka, Bangladesh, etc. Their midget carbon electrodes manufactured are essential components in dry cells. In Jan.89, the production of another variety of midget electrodes, with technical assistance from Matsushita Electric, was commissioned. Over the years, the company increased its installed capacity of Midget Electrodes from 1,200 mln.pcs/annum to 1,800 mln.pcs/annum. In 1999-2000, the company achieved success with the production of toxic free Carbon Rods.
