About Oricon Enterprises Ltd

Oricon Enterprises Limited was incorporated in 1968 and converted to a Public Limited Company in 2006. The company is engaged in manufacturing petrochemical and plastic products, trading liquid colorants, preform, metal closures and real estate. With the set up of a plant in 1983 to manufacture aluminium collapsible tubes, OCL diversified its operations into petrochemical industry, producing import substitutes and speciality solvents. Their products are believed to be one of the best in the country and are used by well-known companies such as Indian Oil, Glaxo, Colgate-Palmolive, Reliance etc. In 1998-99, the company increased its installed capacity of Aluminium Collapsible Tubes/Rigid Containers to 170000000 Nos. In 2006, a merger of Scientific Vacuum Coating Pvt. Ltd. took place post which National Cotton Products PI. Ltd became a subsidiary. USL Shinrai Automobiles Ltd and USL Auto Services Ltd. became wholly owned subsidiaries in April 2006, post acquisition of 100000 and 50000 equity shares respectively. In 2007, National Cotton Products Pvt.Ltd. ceased to be a subsidiary. In 2010, Oricon Properties Pvt. Limited merged with the company after NCLT approved the Scheme of Merger. During 2014-15, Oriental Containers Limited became a wholly owned subsidiary of Oricon Enterprises Ltd. In 2017-18, USL Shipping a step down subsidiary sold its business to Shreeji Shipping for Rs. 184.75 crore. Subsequently, in 2021-22, the company bought back 1032000 equity shares from existing shareholders and acquired 547297 Equity shares of United Shippers Limited from Logiscor Limited, thus increasing its shareholding to 98.05.
