About Maha Rashtra Apex Corporation Ltd

Maha Rashtra Apex Corporation (MACL) was incorporated in April 1943 as a banking company. Led by T Ramesh U Pai as the Chairman and T Sudhakar Pai as the Managing Director, the group companies include ICDS Manipal Finance Corporation, Canara Steel and Karnataka Consumer Products. To broaden and expand their public holdings, the company issued 42.55 shares at a premium of Rs 5 with detachable warrants and plan to diversify in merchant banking, OTCEI dealership, stock exchange membership, money changing business and mutual funds. MACL have promoted Manipal Home Finance for housing finance and Manipal Motors for diversification and expansion. General Investment Trusts was amalgamated with the company in 1971 and 3214260 warrants were issued to the promoters of the company on preferential basis in 199596. During 19992000, the company diversified into retail sales of mutual funds, agency of Western Union for Money Transfer Service, marketing of Mutual Funds of reputed brands and retail marketing of gold coins.
