About Indian Sucrose Ltd

Indian Sucrose Ltd. was formerly known as Oswal Sugars Ltd and incorporated as a public limited company in December 1990. An initial project cost of Rs 32.6 crore was estimated to build a 2500 tcd capacity plant for producing white crystal sugar, with commercial operations planned to start by January 1992. However, due to delays, the project cost was revised to Rs 42 crore to include the installation of captive power generation. In 1993, OSL came out with a public issue and increased the capacity of the sugar plant to 3500 tcd. In 1995-1996, the company allotted 1.27 million equity shares to IFCI and ICICI to convert their loans to equity shares. The company made the name change from Oswal Sugars Ltd to Indian Sucrose Ltd.
