About IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd

IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd (Formerly Creditcapital Venture Fund India) was established in 1989 and is a joint venture between Creditcapital Finance Corporation, Bank of India and Asian Development Bank. It also has support collaboration with Lazard Ventures from the UK. The company's main objective is to achieve capital appreciation of its equity investments from the growth of its portfolio companies and by exercising determined divestment options. In 1990, it went public with 34 lac equity shares for Rs 10 each, the issue was 12.09 times oversubscribed. It also launched the first industry-specific fund called the ITF with a corpus of Rs 10 cr which was subscribed to by several leading organizations from India. It also announced plans for two new funds called the AFF and SARA Fund. The AAF is of Rs 15 cr and the SARA Fund is of Rs 100 cr. Thirteen investments have been made by SARA Fund across sectors such as Information Technology, Media and Biotechnology. In 2002 the name of the company was changed to IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd.
