About Hindustan Motors Ltd

Hindustan Motors Ltd is one of India's leading car manufacturing companies with a strong presence since 1942. It is the leader in the Indian automobile industry, offering products ranging from passenger cars, RTV, muilty utility vehicles, Bedford trucks, and Mitsubishi Lancer Lancer Select and Lancer Cedia cars. They are also renowned for bringing Mitsubishi Pajero and Mitsubishi Lancer Car in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors Japan. The company has diversified their activities by launching divisions for the manufacture of Earth moving equipments, Power Products Division, and commercial vehicle division. They have set up Remote Services Division for software technology in Chennai, subsidiary in USA and exported transmission components worth Rs 4 crore in the 200304 financial year. During the 200405 financial year, Power Unit Plant and Power Products Division were transferred to AVTEC and two new variants of Ambassador, Grand and Avigo, and the Lancer Invex with 1.8L petrol engine were launched. Montero was launched in June 2007 and Pajero sports in Feb 2008. In the 200910 financial year they developed auto component business and in 201112 period Lancer EVO X was introduced. In 201213 period the company divested their Chennai Car Plant, sold their entire holdings in HMFCL and HM Export Limited and during 2013-14 period the company issued further shares and became an Associate of the Company.
