About Golden Tobacco Ltd

Golden Tobacco Ltd, part of the Dalmia group, is a premier cigarette manufacturer with a wide range of products including full, light, ultra light menthol, menthol light, and extra menthol light. Established in 1930 by Narsee Monjee, the company was changed to a private concern in 1955 and went public in 1970. They opened a manufacturing plant in Vadodara in 1972 and was taken over by Dalmia Industries in 1979. They have two manufacturing plants in Mumbai and Vadodara. By 1985, they diversified into different categories like petrochemicals, additives, paper, and marine products. Major cigarette brands owned by the company include Panama, Flair, Chancellor, Esquire, Legend, and Burton. Further, in 200405 they co-promoted DSS Mobile Communication Ltd, the largest paging operation in the country and bifurcated their tobacco and realty businesses as two separate companies in 2008. The same year, they launched Diet Blue using their patented ECOTINE technology which is less toxic.
