About DIC India Ltd

DIC India Limited (formerly known as Coates India Limited) was established in 1947 as a Public Limited Company in Calcutta by the Founder Manish Bhatia. It is a subsidiary of DIC Corporation Japan and part of Dainippon Ink and Chemicals Inc. DIC India produces printing inks, lamination adhesive, and allied products with an installed capacity of 23376 Tonnes per annum (TPA), holding 59.54% stake of the paid up capital. Coates Brothers of UK has 51% stake in the company. The company acquired Rohit Industries in 2001 and commissioned the Liquid Ink Mother Plant in 2008. DIC India set up a new plant for Lamination Adhesive at Bangalore in 2012 and sold its entire shareholding in DIC Coatings India Limited to The Valspar Singapore Corporation Pte Limited for an aggregate consideration of Rs.400680362 in 2010. The company also underwent a restructuring process to move towards a single entity model, DIC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, in 2001.
