About Bright Brothers Ltd

Bright Brothers Ltd (BBL), a public limited company incorporated in July 1946, is a pioneer in the plastics industry with products ranging from houseware to motor accessories. The company part-financed its project to set up a manufacturing unit of injection-moulded plastic components in Gurgoan, Haryana and office seating systems in Tarapur, Maharashtra with a public issue of 1.065 million equity shares at a premium of Rs.55 each, amounting to Rs.6.92 crore. The company has entered into a license agreement with Provendra Marketing Switzerland and a technical collaboration agreement with M/s Reydel Italia S.P.A. Italy to obtain latest technical knowhow. BBL also diversified into the office furniture market by introducing a range of chief executive chairs, executive chairs and typist chairs. To further strengthen its operations, the company has set up an additional manufacturing unit in Pondicherry and also acquired a Plastic Manufacturing unit from Whirlpool of India Ltd. In order to better manage its costs, the company announced a voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) for its unionised employees at the factory in Bombay. Additionally, the company had amalgamated its sister concern Brite Automotives and Plastics into the company in the year 1999. With its diversified product range and strategic expansion plans, BBL is set to make mark in the plastics industry.
