About Balmer Lawrie Investment Ltd

Balmer Lawrie Investments Ltd is a publicly owned non-banking financial company under the control of India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Its main business activity is investment and it holds a 59.67 stake in its subsidiary Balmer Lawrie Company Ltd. The company also owns Balmer Lawrie UK Ltd, another subsidiary of Balmer Lawrie Company Ltd. Balmer Lawrie Investments Ltd was incorporated in September 2001 following the Government of India's plan to disinvest 33.58% of their equity holding of 59.58% in IBP Co Ltd. This resulted in Balmer Lawrie Investments Ltd acquiring 61.8 shares of Balmer Lawrie Co. Ltd from IBP Co. Ltd and the scheme became effective with an appointed date of October 15, 2001. With this, Balmer Lawrie Investments Ltd effectively became the parent company of Balmer Lawrie Company Ltd.
